Terms & Conditions

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use The Lend Loop. By registering you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

The Lend Loop provides an online platform that connects people who wish to rent out items ("Owners") with people who wish to rent them ("Renters"). We are not a party to any rental agreement between members. We do not own, inspect, store, or deliver any listed items and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any item or member.

As a member of The Lend Loop you agree to:

• provide accurate listing and profile information;
• only list items you legally own and are entitled to rent out;
• not list prohibited, illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or unsafe items;
• communicate honestly and respectfully with other members;
• comply with all applicable laws, including consumer and tax obligations;
• return rented items on time and in the agreed condition.

When a Renter requests an item and an Owner accepts, a direct rental agreement is formed between those members. The Owner and Renter are responsible for agreeing rental dates, pricing, pick-up/return arrangements and condition expectations. The Lend Loop facilitates these arrangements but is not responsible for their performance.

Owners may set a refundable security deposit on their listings. Deposits are intended to cover loss, theft, or damage beyond fair wear and tear. The deposit amount, conditions for deductions, and timing of any refund are agreed between the Owner and Renter. The Lend Loop currently records deposit and pricing information for tracking purposes and does not process live payments. Members are responsible for the actual handling of any money exchanged.

If a disagreement arises about an item, its condition, a deposit, or a rental, members should first try to resolve it directly through the Platform's messaging. Either party may raise a dispute through the Platform, which our moderation team will review and attempt to help resolve. Our decisions in disputes are made in good faith but are not legally binding arbitration, and members retain their legal rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Lend Loop is provided on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, theft, or cost arising from rentals, interactions between members, or reliance on listings. Because we are a marketplace and not a party to rental agreements, any claims relating to an item or rental are between the members involved. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You retain ownership of the listings, photos, reviews, and messages you submit, but you grant The Lend Loop a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. You are responsible for the content you post and must not upload material that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, or offensive. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

Listing items is free. The Lend Loop may apply a service commission on completed rentals, which will be shown to members. During the current phase, financial figures are recorded for tracking and reporting only and no live payments are processed through the Platform.

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove listings, or restrict access if you breach these Terms, create risk for other members, or use the Platform unlawfully. You may close your account at any time. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, or record-keeping reasons.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
